Few Tips For Better Storing Stuff
Tip 1: An Item's Home is Where You First Look for It
Always place an item back to the place which you checked first, not where you eventually found it. Your brain already has a designate place for each item, so why fighting this map. Whether it's kitchen utensils, tools, or clothing, establishing a fixed "home" for each item eliminates the frustration of endless searching.
Tip 2: Organize by Frequency of Use
When storing items, especially in cabinets or storage spaces, implement a strategic organization method:
- Place recently used items at the front
Practical Example: Spice Organization
Consider how this might work with spices in a cabinet. Place the just used spices at the front, with less-used spices moved to the back. With time less used spices will be pushed back and you can then remove them from the cabinet. The same approach may work for other scenarios: computer files, medicine cabinet, clothing
